প্রশ্নকর্তা ভুল ধরেছেন শেষ অংশে। গ্রাম ছাড়ার সময় থেকে এখন পর্যন্ত বোঝাতে since then লেখাই প্রত্যাশিত: has not been heard of since then। তাই উত্তর been heard of since অংশটি।

মনে রাখুন, আধুনিক ইংরেজিতে বাক্যের শেষে একা since-ও অনেক সময় চলে, তবে এই প্রশ্নের প্রচলিত উত্তর since then ধরেই। অনেকে lived দেখে had lived চান; কিন্তু later থাকায় ক্রম স্পষ্ট, তাই এখানে simple past ভুল নয়।
