Happiness একটি abstract noun। সাধারণ অর্থে ব্যবহার হলে abstract noun-এর আগে কোনো article বসে না, যেমন Honesty is the best policy বা Money cannot buy happiness।

এখানে everlasting happiness মানে চিরস্থায়ী সুখ, সাধারণ অর্থেই বলা হয়েছে; নির্দিষ্ট কোনো সুখের কথা নয়। তাই কোনো article লাগবে না: cannot guarantee everlasting happiness।

the বসে তখন, যখন abstract noun নির্দিষ্ট হয়ে যায়, যেমন the happiness of my family। আর a বা an বসে না, কারণ happiness uncountable। everlasting শব্দ স্বরধ্বনি দিয়ে শুরু বলে an বেছে নেওয়াটাই এখানকার ফাঁদ।
